We install boilers, air conditioning and air-source heat pumps for homeowners across DA16, from the roads around Bellegrove Road and Welling Corner to Falconwood and East Wickham. Surveys in Welling are free for boilers and air conditioning, and your written, fixed-price quotation arrives within 24 hours of the survey. ### Welling homes we work on Much of Welling was built between the wars, so the typical home is a 1930s semi-detached or terraced house with a front bay, a modest rear garden and, in many cases, a loft conversion or rear extension added since. That consistency is useful: we know where boilers and flues usually sit in these houses, how the original pipework tends to run and where an outdoor AC unit can go without dominating a small garden. ### Common requests in Welling - Boiler replacements in 1930s semis - Open-vented to combi conversions - Smart thermostats such as Hive - Single-split AC for main bedrooms ### Nearby areas - Eltham - Blackheath - Chislehurst - Greenwich Services ## What we install in Welling ### Boilers & heating in Welling Vaillant, Baxi and Worcester Bosch boilers from £1,600 + VAT, servicing from £95 + VAT and heating repairs in Welling. Learn more Local service guide ## A guide to heating and cooling your Welling home Most enquiries we get from Welling fall into a handful of categories: boiler replacements in 1930s semis; open-vented to combi conversions; smart thermostats such as hive; single-split ac for main bedrooms. Whichever applies to you, the starting point is the same. We look at the actual house, not a floor plan or a photo, and recommend what will work in those rooms. ### Air conditioning in Welling For Welling (DA16) homes we install three types of domestic system. A single-split pairs one indoor unit with one outdoor unit and suits a single bedroom, office or loft room. A multi-split runs several indoor units from one outdoor unit, so you get separate control in each room without a row of units on the outside wall. A ducted system hides the indoor unit in a loft or ceiling void and delivers air through discreet grilles, which suits renovations and homes where visible units aren't wanted. We install Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu and Haier. GHS is F-Gas registered as a company and our engineers are personally F-Gas qualified, so refrigerant work is carried out and commissioned correctly. Installation starts from £1,500 with zero VAT until 31 March 2027, servicing from £150 + VAT, and AC repairs are £180 + VAT for the first hour, then £75 + VAT per additional half-hour. ### Boilers and heating in Welling We're approved installers for Baxi, Vaillant and Worcester Bosch, with Vaillant our preferred brand and manufacturer warranties of up to 10 years depending on the model. In Welling we replace old boilers, convert open-vented systems to combi boilers, fit system boilers with unvented cylinders for larger homes and install smart thermostats such as Hive. Boiler installation starts from £1,600 + VAT and servicing from £95 + VAT. Heating repairs are £120 + VAT for the first hour, then £50 + VAT per additional half-hour. We're Gas Safe registered (552913) and hold ACS, G3 unvented hot water and Water Regulations qualifications. ### Air-source heat pumps in Welling A heat pump only performs well when it's designed around the house. That's why every heat pump enquiry from Welling starts with a survey for £250 + VAT, including heat-loss calculations and an assessment of radiators, hot water demand and where the outdoor unit and cylinder can go. We're approved installers for Baxi and Vaillant and hold heat pump installation and design certifications. Servicing starts from £220 + VAT and diagnostics are £180 + VAT for the first hour. GHS is not directly MCS certified. We can arrange installations through an MCS umbrella scheme where applicable, so eligible customers can access the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant. ### Covering Welling and the surrounding area Alongside Welling, we regularly work in Eltham, Blackheath, Chislehurst, Greenwich. If you live in a flat or a conservation area in Welling, check whether you need permission from a freeholder or the council for external equipment. We'll talk through positions with you so you have what you need. Every installation is quoted at a fixed price, and parts, materials and additional works are set out where applicable, so the figure you agree is the figure you pay. We accept bank transfer, card and cash, with a 50% deposit on installations and the remaining 50% on completion. Reviews ## What our customers say “Josh did a great job in installing a new boiler and smart thermostat. Turned up on time, completed the job to my satisfaction and left the area clean and tidy. Easy to contact and good communication, so much so I have rebooked him for more work.”Julie, BR1, Rated People (verified)“Josh came out immediately and quoted, the quote was very reasonable and fair, Josh installed the boiler a few days later in one day. I can totally recommend his work and professional approach. I will be using him in the future.”Damion, BR2, Rated People (verified)“Josh fitted a new Vaillant boiler last Thursday. Josh was extremely professional and helpful. The install is great and Josh tidied up all the pipe work leading to the boiler. Josh even had to do some additional work to resolve a gas supply pressure issue to the boiler – and did not charge extra for this. I would have no hesitation in recommending Josh and GHS.”Simon B., Google, 5 stars Read all reviews Why choose GHS ## Why Welling homeowners choose us Welling is next door to our Eltham base, and the 1930s homes that make up much of DA16 are the kind of properties we work in week in, week out. Across London Borough of Bexley, these are the issues we see most. ### Original pipework Older systems in interwar homes may still use original pipework and tanks. A survey shows whether a conversion or system clean-up is worth doing with a new boiler. ### Boilers in kitchens Many Welling boilers are in kitchen cupboards. Flue position and clearances matter when choosing a replacement. ### Warm back bedrooms South-facing rear bedrooms can get uncomfortable in summer. A single-split unit is a simple, quick fix. ### Lost warranties Boilers that miss annual services can lose manufacturer cover. Servicing starts from £95 + VAT. UK summers are getting hotter, and demand for air conditioning installers peaks as soon as a heatwave arrives. Booking your Welling survey in spring means the work is done before the next hot spell. For boilers, the same logic applies to winter: replacing an ageing boiler before the cold weather avoids a breakdown when you need heating most.
